The holidays can be a stressful time in the office and at home. A few easy fixes can help ease your stress so that you can enjoy the holidays to their fullest.
Make Sure You Eat Your Veggies
Nothing is worse than post-holiday weight. Granted, it is a time to treat yourself (like this fudge recipe featuring our Lavender Rosemary salt) but the feeling of heavy foods in your stomach goes nothing to improve your mood or stress this time of year! Make a smoothie, load your plate with some extra greens, or find a creative way to incorporate veggies into your plate (like this recipe for healthy mac and cheese!). Whatever you do, a sprinkle of Fleur De Sel is always a must on veggies - we’re addicted!
Do Some Yoga
Some of you read this one and nodded your head in agreement, while some of you rolled your eyes. Makes sense, not everyone is into yoga and that’s okay! A simple stretch session can do wonders for your stress. Or at the very least, the final resting pose (Savasana) is one we can all agree on (read about the benefits here).
Take a Soak
Obviously this one is on the list! First, because the benefits of soaking in a warm tub filled with bath salt is known to be relaxing for the body and mind (especially if you choose one with a calming essential oil blend). Second, we could all use a little alone time when the house is filled with friends and family and you are likely to be left alone when you head to the bathroom!
Take a Walk
Similar to taking a soak, heading out of the house for a walk is another way to get some quiet time in! You can also soak up some vitamin D and get some fresh air while you are at it. The added benefit of working off that second slice of pie is also enticing.
Go See A Movie
There are so many good movies out right now! Pack the family in the car and head to your local theater. No one will be arguing over politics and the kids won’t be claiming they are bored. A guaranteed 2 hours of entertainment for everyone!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS from all of us at SF Salt. We hope it is filled with family, friends, good food, and joy!
